Workflow Automation:
Ogilvy & Mather
The digital imaging studio at Ogilvy & Mather had a small problem on a large scale.
Some filenames — created on a Mac, by designers — cause errors when copied to a Windows or Unix computer. In Ogilvy's mixed environment, this meant that many files needed to be renamed before being moved over the network. This problem grows exponentially, when you consider the size of their archive.
The script that I provided makes it fast and simple for their designers to clean up any filenames with illegal characters; just drag and drop. Once the filenames are cleaned, they can be moved to any server on the network, without issue.
